Eight dogs from Connecticut competed in the annual Puppy Bowl on Sunday, in which Team Ruff took on Team Fluff. Team Fluff ultimately won the competition, taking home the Lombarky Trophy in a 73-69 game. The three-hour show featured 150 dogs from 72 shelters across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands, including the eight dogs from Connecticut, according to a news release. Visually impaired dog and Team Fluff competitor Polly was adopted by the owners of Troupe429 in Norwalk, according to Stamford's Lucky Dog Refuge. Her owners had adopted from Lucky Dog Refuge in the past, and they fostered Polly over the holidays and decided she was perfect for them. "She is now called Skipper because despite her blindness, she us always skipping and running around the house - totally fearless," Lucky Dog Refuge said. Skipper attended Lucky Dog Refuge's Puppy Bowl watch party on Sunday at Third Place by Half Full in Stamford. Polly's brother and Team Ruff player Roly was adopted in mid-December by a family from Milford, according to Lucky Dog Refuge. Roly's name is now Westley, and he tuned into the Puppy Bowl with his new family. Westley's adopters said that he is "doing great." "He was a stellar student in puppy kindergarten, and went wild with us when we watched his touchdown - he's always happiest when he's playing with his toys," Westley's family said in a statement via email.
