Donate Supplies to LDR
Unfortunately, due to space constraints at the rescue, we are not able to receive donations on our property without advance notice. Supply donations are accepted by appointment only and for pre-approved items. To make an appointment for drop off, please text 203-434-1402. Thank you for your understanding! We are grateful for every off, but we are trying to avoid on-site storage taking away space from the dogs.
Below is the current list of donation often approved at Lucky Dog Refuge.
We are always most in need of monetary donations to pay for the medical care of the dogs. The average cost of medical care per dog that we save is $1,500-$2,000.

Item Donations:
|
We have to kindly decline the following items at this time:
*WE DO NOT ACCEPT RAWHIDE BONES, EXPIRED PRODUCTS, PILLOWS, OR ANYTHING WITH DOWN/FEATHERS* We already have plenty of small crates and do not accept soft travel crates for cats. Please do NOT leave other items, trash, human clothing, or non-dog products. It takes staff time away from the dogs and is costly to dispose of it. |
Why Donate to Lucky Dog Refuge?
As you can see from the graphic below, we only recuperate (on average) a quarter of our costs through adoption fees - if even that much. For the rest, we rely entirely on the generosity of people like you.
We pride ourselves on being a rescue that focuses on the dogs with medical needs - because they are the ones most at risk. Given how high the costs are, many rescues cannot afford to take on the medical cases and the dogs are left in pain to fend for themselves. But those dogs are the reason we started this rescue….and we need your help to survive and thrive. Please help us continue to be a safe haven for the dogs most in need by donating today. Every dollar goes a long way. |
